Bossen and Hansen A/S

In February 2019, EKJ Kolding bought the company Bossen og Hansen A/S. The acquisition strengthens EKJ's position as a nationwide company with expertise in the metro and rail sector as well as strong and weak current engineering consultancy. Bossen og Hansen will continue as an independent company and, as part of EKJ, will strengthen its professional platform.

Together with EKJ RÅDGIVENDE INGENIØRER, Bossen and Hansen have solved design tasks for Banedanmark, Sund&Bælt (Femern) and Cityringen. The collaboration has created a desire for a more formal relationship to the benefit of both parties.

"We are happy to join a larger group with which we share values. We believe that together we can create good synergies in the construction sector. I am very pleased that we will keep our identity - including our name and roles - now we are just part of a bigger and stronger company," said Finn Hansen, CEO of Bossen and Hansen, in connection with the acquisition.

In 2010, EKJ acquired Broconsult, which has provided consultancy services to public sector clients since 1980. Particularly in connection with inspection, condition assessment, strengthening and maintenance of bridges and tunnels, etc.

Broconsult possesses a great expertise in diagnosing, choosing durable repair solutions, lifetime assessments. Also to set up and price different strategies, load capacity calculations and bridge classifications.

In addition, the company has developed a bridge management system for municipalities, so that today the company handles bridge management for about 1/4 of the country's municipalities. Bridge management includes the planning and design of new bridges as well as the reconstruction and strengthening of existing bridges. The company has extensive knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of various construction designs, knowledge that is applied to new projects.
